Spooks of Haworth, is located in the heart of Bronte country and is the oldest esoteric bookshop in the North of England. It was established in 1983 by Stan and Shirley Ledgard and is now owned by Kate Hustler, who carries on the Spooks legacy as a spiritual hub. 

We are exceptionally proud to be a specialist Bookshop for psychic phenomena supplies, stocking hundreds of fiction and non- fiction books associated with the spiritual world. We also cater to many different genres including, modern classics, young adult, mythology, wicca and witchcraft, wild foods cookbooks, folklore, local history, walking books, ghost stories, a children’s section, poetry and we even have a ‘TikTok’ inspired section. Our book stock is very diverse and has anything from Colleen Hoover to DIon Fortune; from Nikita Gill to Aleister Crowley! We like to think we have something for everyone and cater to all age groups.

We offer warm and cold beverages, with outdoor and indoor seating arrangements. And now stock Eden’s botanicals.

At Spooks we have experienced tarot readers, with strong reputations, who are able to offer divinatory guidance. Hourly sessions can be booked in advance, online at £30 or walk-ins if there is availability. 

We also provide hypnotherapy and Reiki sessions by appointment. 

Part of the ethos of Spooks, is to support local people and businesses. We are always open to new craft ideas and welcome new authors, regularly having book signing events. In addition to books and Tarot card decks, we offer a wide range of felt craft gifts, dreamcatchers, incense, diffusers, mugs, gift sets, rune and reiki stones, necklaces and pendants and an extensive crystal selection.

Our Charity

We are proud to raise money for ‘Andy’s Man Club’ a charity which supports mental health in men and we regularly raise money through various activities throughout the year
